RTÉ NSO New Season Announced

Details of the RTE NSO's exciting programme for next season have recently been announced, along with confirmation of their continued relationship with Alan Buribayev.

RTÉ has recently announced details of the National Symphony Orchestra’s (NSO) 2012/13 season, in addition to confirming that the orchestra will be continuing its relationship with Principal Conductor, Alan Buribayev.

Beginning on 14 September and conculding in May next year, the main programme of over thirty NSO events features guest appearances from artists such as Alban Gerhardt, Julian Rachlin and Celine Byrne, with concerts directed by soloists such as Associate Artist Finghin Collins and Howard Shelley also featuring.

The main programme promises the continuation of such strands as the cycles of Prokofiev symphonies and Beethoven and Mozart concerti, and the ‘choral masterworks’ series. A celebration of Wagner’s bicentenary will also take place.

The Horizons series (featuring in the ‘Beyond the Season’ strand, alongside film and popular music-focussed concerts) of contemporary music events will continue, with concerts featuring Raymond Deane, Linda Buckley, Ann Cleare and Jonathan Nangle. Premieres of music by Andrew Hamilton and Frank Corcoran, in addition to a second performance of John Kinsella’s tenth symphony, will also feature in the main programme.
