Creating .the olllam.

Tyler Duncan and Mike Shimmin

Creating .the olllam.

.the olllam. is an album written and recorded in February 2012 by John McSherry (uilleann pipes, whistles), Tyler Duncan (uilleann pipes, whistles, guitar, Rhodes piano) and Mike Shimmin (drums, percussion) and released on Compass Records last September. An explorative album reflecting their backgrounds in Irish traditional music, pop and jazz – Duncan and Shimmin both have a degree in jazz performance and are part of the Irish music/jazz crossover band Millish in the US – the trio are also joined by Joe Dart on bass.

Now a documentary (below) has been produced by Patrick Shaughnessy and Nick Ferguson on the making of the album, telling the personal history behind it and illustrating how the group put together the tracks over the internet.
