The Garage at Chatham (GAC), located in the Hudson Valley village of Chatham, NY, is set to commence its 2023 summer series on June 10th. Established by opera singer Jon Morrell and his wife, former opera singer Adrienne Morrell, this initiative was born during the pandemic when they discovered the acoustic capabilities of their garage.

Together with conductor/composer Thomas Carlo Bo, the couple initially organised a free, locally-sourced classical concert in the summer of 2020, which received a considerable response and eventually evolved into a full summer series by 2021.

Currently entering its third season, GAC offers a platform for globally recognised talent to premiere new works. This series is reminiscent of 19th-century salon concerts, serving to facilitate cultural and intellectual exchange between artists and audiences in a close-knit environment. Performances are consistently kept under 90 minutes.

The 2023 season will open with a tribute to the pioneering Zoellner Quartet on June 10th, featuring a world-premiere performance by the Conduit Quartet. The season will also showcase a solo violin performance by 2023 Artist in Residence, Miranda Cuckson, a concert by pianist Taka Kigawa, and a fusion of classical violin and flamenco music. The Summer Jazz programme will include three performances. Additionally, the season will feature a sculpture show, commencing on June 16th and continuing throughout the summer.
