Sharon Carty mezzo-soprano
Irish Baroque Orchestra
Our first concert at the NCH on 11 October (also touring to East Cork Early Music Festival on Friday October 13th), features the superb Irish mezzo soprano Sharon Carty who will sing music written for famous castrati of the 18th century. The concert also includes strikingly beautiful instrumental and vocal music by Antonio Vivaldi.
Driven by the belief that the best things in life stand the test of time, the Irish Baroque Orchestra allow Irish audiences to experience the beauty of baroque music as it was intended to be heard. Prodigies and Premieres offers an opportunity to hear music for the first time, whether it is recently discovered Italian baroque music, or 21st century music from Ireland making its world premiere. As part of the NCH Chamber Music Series 2017/2018, Irish Baroque Orchestra presents three programmes celebrating a wide array of musical styles, forms and genres.
