Duncairn Virtual Cabaret : Ep.1 – Digital Concert

Duncairn Virtual Cabaret : Ep.1 – Digital Concert

Saturday, 4 April 2020, 8.30pm

The Duncairn will live stream a curated series of self-shot performances from some of Ireland & Scotland’s finest musicians, poets and artists over the coming weeks on Facebook and Youtube. All donations will go directly to the performers featured to assist them during this time of financial hardship, when most are facing a loss of income from tour and concert cancellations for the foreseeable future.

Some of the artists who have agreed to feature include award winners Mick Flannery, Damien Dempsey, Julie Fowlis and Eamon Doorley, Ian Lynch (Lankum), Joshua Burnside, Ríoghnach Connolly and over 40 more.

The Cabaret will be co-presented by Professor Phil Scraton, BBC’s Lynette Fay and local composer/musician Conor Caldwell.

Our aim is to bring some much-needed happiness and light into the lives of people at a time when all of us are rightly scared and concerned for humanity. Music and the arts uplift so many of us. We want to let people know that will never change. But we also want to provide a much-needed lifeline to many of our musicians and artists at a time when they face financial hardship.

The first episode of the Virtual Cabaret will be streamed live on The Duncairn’s Facebook and Youtube pages on Saturday 4th April at 8.30pm. Donations can be made in advance of the show above or during the stream via PayPal.
