How I discovered this artist:

Can't remember how I first heard of them, but it was around the time of the release of their first album 'Dogrel'

Why I gave the above rating:

The latest offering from the album everyone is waiting for – Fontaines D.C.’s ‘A Heros’s death’ – ‘Televised Mind’ is a droning, grungey, percussion-heavy track. It’s got that same Fontaines D.C. feel that we saw in their first album – moody, stomping, and with shouty lyrics sung in a Dublin accent. A guitar hook in a minor key rolls throughout as singer Grian Chatten repeats over and over again the words ‘That’s a televised mind’. The overtly repetitive nature of the song reflects its subject too, as it’s about the concept of echo chambers, and people’s opinions being constantly reinforced online by the like-minded people they follow, stripping us of the ability to form our own opions and even make mistakes. This hypnotic and loud track is a welcome insight to the upcoming album, due for release this month!
