The Liverpool Philharmonic is seeking a full-time, permanent Assistant Platform Manager to provide pivotal support to the Platform Manager in ensuring the smooth execution of all platform and transportation requirements for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and its affiliated ensembles across various venues, including international tours.

The position encompasses aiding in platform management for rehearsals, concerts, and recordings, ensuring safe operations, and managing the setup and presentation of the platform to high operational standards. Additionally, the role involves transportation planning, driving the Philharmonic lorry to venues within the UK and internationally, ensuring safe loading and unloading of instruments and equipment, and maintaining the lorry’s operational compliance.

Key qualifications include experience in stage or transport management within an orchestral environment, strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. A full clean HGV class 1 licence is essential, although there’s a provision for obtaining qualification. Basic technical knowledge of lighting and/or amplification, knowledge of Health and Safety at Work legislation, and proficiency in computerised stage planning are desirable.
