To celebrate RIAM's 175th year, its flagship ensemble the RIAM Philharmonia is raising the bar with music industry partnerships, European premieres and the most challenging repertoire yet. With most concerts taking place in the new Whyte Recital Hall (the orchestra's permanent home), there is a lot to celebrate in this landmark year.

Brahms Symphony No.1

Kerem Hasan makes his Irish debut conducting a European Premiere for symphonic brass and percussion written in 2021. This will be followed by Brahms' monumental Symphony No.1 which premiered in 1876 and took almost 20 years to complete.

Kerem is the Chief Conductor of the Tiroler Symphonieorchester, Innsbruck since 2019 and came to international attention after winning the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award in the summer of 2017 and appearing as a finalist in the Donatella Flick conducting competition with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Kerem's engagements during 2023/24 season include working as guest conductor with BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic and SWR Symphonieorchester. He will make also make debuts with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Kymi Sinfonietta and RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
