Brilliant Corners festival in Belfast will host a performance by John Donegan and his ensemble, ‘The Irish Sextet’. Scheduled for Saturday, 9th March at the Black Box, Belfast, the concert will begin at 2 PM, with tickets priced at £15 and concessions available at £10.

Jazz pianist and composer John Donegan’s, influences are deeply rooted in the works of iconic figures such as Bill Evans, Kenny Barron, Wynton Kelly, Bud Powell, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett. Donegan’s extensive career has seen him collaborate with a wide range of UK, Irish, and international artists, including notable names like Art Blakey, Art Farmer, Barney Kessel, Greg Abate, and Louis Stewart.

The performance at the Brilliant Corners festival will showcase pieces from Donegan’s ‘The Irish Sextet’ collection, with a lineup that includes some of Ireland’s most esteemed musicians. Michael Buckley will feature on alto and soprano saxophone, as well as flute, alongside Richie Buckley on tenor and soprano saxophone. Linley Hamilton will play the trumpet and flugelhorn, with Dan Bodwell on double bass and John Daly on drums.
