The Kerry School of Music hosts a Masterclass with pianist Ivan Ilić from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Young musicians will be coached in a variety of repertoire. 

Pianist Ivan Ilić took degrees in mathematics and music at the University of California Berkeley before moving to Paris in 2001. He then studied at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris, where he was awarded a Premier Prix. The City of Paris sponsored his first recording. Career highlights include recitals at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Toronto’s Glenn Gould Studio, and the American Academy in Rome. He recently gave début recitals in Vienna, São Paulo, Geneva and Berlin.​​

Ivan Ilić has released several critically acclaimed CDs, including 24 Préludes by Claude Debussy (2008), 22 Chopin Studies by Leopold Godowsky (2012), The Transcendentalist (2014) and For Bunita Marcus by Morton Feldman (2015). In recent years Ilić’s approach has broadened in scope. In 2011 he acted in two French short films: Luc Plissonneau’s Les Mains and Benoît Maire’s Le Berger. His articles have been published on the websites of Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, and Music & Literature. Since 2014 he has co-produced multiple 5-hour radio series for Swiss Radio. ​Ivan Ilić’s next CD (2017) will be dedicated to Beethoven’s Czech friend, composer​ Antoine Reicha. The CD will be a co-production between Swiss Radio and a Venetian Foundation, the Palazzetto Bru Zane. ​
