Composition: Wales
The BBC National Orchestra of Wales will be performing a special concert titled "Composition: Wales" on March 7, 2023, at the Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff at 7:00 PM. This annual project is held in association with Composers of Wales, Tŷ Cerdd, Vale of Glamorgan Festival, and Welsh Music Guild, and aims to support the development and exposure of Welsh and Wales-based compositional talent.
The concert will showcase the latest in Welsh composition, with selected composers given the opportunity to hear their works performed by the Orchestra. The event is free, including the workshops and the concert. Anyone interested in attending the concert can do so without a ticket.
This year's Composition: Wales will be conducted by the BBC NOW’s Principal Conductor, Ryan Bancroft. Composition mentors will include Gavin Higgins, our Composer in Association, and Sarah Lianne Lewis, our Composer Affiliate.
Individuals with special requirements can contact the BBC at [email protected] for accommodation. Composition: Wales is part of the BBC NOW 2022-23 Season at Hoddinott Hall.
