Artistic partner Jörg Widmann conducted the orchestra in Beethoven’s thrilling Seventh Symphony, one of the all-time greats with its visceral quality, last February. It balances music of sublime anguish with cathartic elevation. Its beautiful second movement which featured in The Kings Speech is a wonderful blend of gravity and the swelling exciting tunes that Beethoven wrote so well. Enjoy this all time classic!
