BBC Cymru Wales is the national broadcaster of Wales, providing a wide range of English and Welsh language programming and output for audiences on television, radio and online.  

These placements provide a “taster” experience of working within the BBC and broadcasting industry. It is aimed at individuals who want to work in the media and would like to find out more about the range of jobs potentially available. Candidates will have the opportunity to see television, radio and online production at first hand. Candidates will have the chance to spend time with those who produce and co-ordinate the output as well as the craft specialists who capture and post-produce it, along with the staff that provide engineering and IT support across all aspects of programme making and transmission.

Radio Cymru NEWS – (Cardiff - over 18 and fluent in Welsh)
We can offer placements of up to one week in the BBC Radio Cymru newsroom in Cardiff. Candidates would learn with one of the station’s news programmes, the daily phone-in or the bulletins service. A keen interest in news and current affairs is essential for these roles, in addition to the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh.

Radio Cymru NEWS (BANGOR – over 18 and fluent in Welsh
We can offer placements of up to one week in the BBC Radio Cymru newsroom in Bangor. Candidates would work with one of the station’s news programmes, or the daily phone-in Taro‘r Post.  A keen interest in news and current affairs is essential for these roles, in addition to the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh.

Unscripted Productions – Factual - Wales - BBC Studios (Cardiff - over 18)
Successful applicants will get the opportunity gain experience with one or more teams producing a range of local and network television programmes for television.    Projects include strands such as Bargain Hunt, X-ray and The One Show as well as one-off commissions. You will learn how the production team in the office, conduct research, organising shoots, logging footage and other general production duties. You will gain a good understanding of the production process and have the opportunity to sit in an edit and possibly go on location.

Welsh language skills are not necessary .
