The National Youth Orchestras of Scotland (NYOS) is accepting applications for its 2024 orchestral programmes, including NYOS Symphony Orchestra and NYOS Development Orchestra.

Eligible candidates include orchestral instrumentalists aged 14-22 for NYOS and 11-18 for NYOS Development, with a minimum of Grade 8 or equivalent for NYOS and Grade 5-8 or equivalent for NYOS Development. Eligibility extends to those born, living, or studying in Scotland, or those with Scottish family connections. The programmes offer tuition, performance opportunities, and extra-musical activities.

The cost for NYOS is £1,345 and for NYOS Development is £1,045, which includes tuition, residential accommodation, meals, and travel to concert venues. Financial assistance is available, with course bursaries of up to 100% on offer. Auditions are free of charge. The deadline for in-person NYOS auditions is Tuesday, 3 October 2023, and for recorded auditions for both NYOS and NYOS Development, it is Thursday, 26 October 2023.
