Facebook Live: Orwells '84 Double Bill
Join us for a special double bill of live music and film from Orwells '84 on Friday 30th of April. Starting at 8pm on our facebook page, Orwells ‘84 will perform an intimate live set from the isolation station, stories will be told and songs will be sung, to be followed at 9pm by a premiere of their film 'Collections of Identity and Utter Nonsense'. The film is a unique live concert experience and was recorded during lockdown and supported by An Táin Arts Centre and Create Louth.
'Collections of Identity and Utter Nonsense' explores an artistic approach to live performance against the backdrop of the global pandemic. The film and live concert are an Orwells ’84 creation, produced by the band. The services of photographer and director Andrew Browne and local artist and An Táin Arts Centre's 2021 emerging artist Ulrike “Uliunique” Liebetrau were recruited for the first time.
Orwells ’84 are a unique musical outfit based in Dundalk. With a huge variety of musical influences ranging from David Bowie, Guy Garvey and Nick Cave to the Libertines, the Arctic Monkeys and Led Zeppelin, the band have created a unique indie folk sound that has caught and held attention at every turn.
This is a free event, no booking required.
