Irish World Academy Public Lecture: Rhiannon Giddens – Banjos, Black String Bands, and Bursting Mythology of Early American Music
Grammy recipient, Pulitzer prize-winner, and Irish World Academy
Artist-in-Residence, Rhiannon Giddens has performed and conducted masterclasses across several Academy programmes. In
this special event, she shares her own research in a public lecture
which challenges the received narrative of 'Early American Music'
and offers a counter-narrative of cultural diversity, complexity,
and cross-fertilization.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
