The BBC is offering a permanent, full-time position as a Planning Manager for the BBC Symphony Orchestra (BBCSO), based in London. This role is pivotal in the artistic planning and administration of the BBC SO, assisting the Orchestra Director in implementing the orchestra’s artistic strategy. The successful candidate will join the BBC SO Senior Management Team and collaborate with departments across the BBC, external venues, publishers, artist managers, and artists to ensure the seamless planning and execution of the orchestra’s activities.

Key responsibilities include assisting in budget management, coordinating with promoters and recording companies, and line managing the Chorus Manager and Planning Assistants/Coordinators. The role demands a thorough knowledge of orchestral and choral repertoire, experience in an arts organisation (preferably with a professional orchestra), and familiarity with current soloists, conductors, talent agencies, composers, and publishers. Excellent planning, organising skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential.
