Cruinniú na nÓg Open Call

Thursday, 28 March 2024, 4.00pm

Galway City Council invites applications for the Cruinniú na nÓg Open Call 2024, aimed at facilitating events celebrating the national day of creativity for children and young people.

Cruinniú na nÓg, taking place this year on 15 June, focuses on engaging children and youths aged 0–18 in free and accessible creative activities within their local communities. The council seeks proposals for creative projects from artists, practitioners, and community groups that foster creativity in areas such as woodwork, furniture making, writing, dance, drama, circus acts, and photography.

Eligible applicants include community groups, organisations, and creative practitioners based in or planning activities in Galway City on or before the event date. Grants ranging from €500 to €3,000 will support project costs covering artists' wages, event production, equipment hire, venue costs, documentation, marketing, and more. Projects are encouraged to explore themes from recent consultations, amplify children's voices, engage diverse communities, and culminate in activities on the day of the event.

Applications must be submitted online by 4pm on Thursday, 28 March 2024.
