The 52nd annual Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy takes place from 6 to 14 July in Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare.

The programme includes daily tuition across a range of traditional music instruments as well as in traditional singing and dance, plus workshops, lectures, tributes and concerts.

On Monday 8 July at 8pm, the Fiddle Recital will take place at Community Centre, presented by John Kelly.

Saturday, 6th July
3pm–6pm: Information Desk - Students can meet administrative staff at Community Centre, Miltown Malbay.
8.00pm: Official Opening by Peter Browne, piper, documentary maker and former producer/presenter with RTÉ Radio.
8.30pm: Breandán Breathnach Memorial Lecture - Uilleann pipers and piping in Clare and Dublin 1930-1973, presented by Gay McKeon and Emmett Gill.
9.30pm: Céilithe at Mill Marquee, GAA grounds, Miltown Malbay.

Sunday, 7th July
12.15pm: Mass in Irish at St Joseph’s Church, Miltown Malbay.
3.00pm: Musical Tribute at Willie Clancy’s Grave, Ballard Cemetery, Miltown Malbay.
5.00pm - 7.30pm: Information Desk at Community Centre.
8.00pm: Céiliúradh Ceoil - Concert broadcast live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta featuring TG4 Gradam Ceoil Award Winners and guest performers.

Monday, 8th July
9am - 10am: Tutors & Students Assemble at various venues.
10am-1pm: Classes & Workshops.
2.30pm - 4pm: Workshop - Irish Roots to Appalachian Branches - The Musical Connections, presented by the Scuffletown Trio at Mill Marquee.
3.00pm: Lecture - An exploration of the social and artistic context of Irish traditional music in early 20th century New York City, presented by Chelsey Zimmerman.
5pm - 7pm: Harp Recital at Mill Marquee, presented by Kathleen Loughnane.
8.00pm: Fiddle Recital at Community Centre, presented by John Kelly.

Tuesday, 9th July

3.00pm: Tribute to Tulla Céilí Band, presented by Paula Carroll.
5pm - 7pm: Ceolchoirm Idirnáisiúnta at Mill Marquee.
8.00pm: Whistle and Flute Recital at Community Centre, presented by Mick O’Connor and Paul McGrattan.

Wednesday, 10th July

2.30pm - 4pm: Workshop - Québecois Traditional Fiddling, presented by the Gairloch Trio at Mill Marquee.
3.00pm: Lecture - Ireland and Québec, Connections and intersections through traditional music, presented by Professor Kate Bevan-Baker.
5pm-7pm: Banjo Recital at Mill Marquee, presented by Muireann Banks and Theresa O’Grady.
8.00pm: Piping Recital at Community Centre.

Thursday, 11th July

2.30pm - 4pm: Workshop - Sea Shanty Singing, presented by Gairloch.
2.30pm: Lecture - “With the banjo on my side”: The life and times of Margaret Barry, presented by Alan Woods.
4.30pm: Button Accordion & Melodeon Recital at Community Centre, presented by Anne Conroy Burke and Jackie Daly.
8.00pm: Old-Style Step Dancing, Set Dancing and Conamara Sean-Nós Dancing Exhibition at Community Centre, presented by Mary Friel.

Friday, 12th July
