The Musicians Union is hiring a Head of Membership.

As Head of Membership, you will have overall responsibility for the Membership Services Department. You will lead the MUs team of eight Membership Services Assistants (MSAs), three of which will directly report to you and five of which you will work in collaboration with the Regional Organisers in order to supervise their workload.

You will ensure the effective operation of all membership services systems and procedures, particularly with regard to prompt and accurate collection of subscription fees from members. You will ensure compliance with financial systems and procedures, liaising with external suppliers as well as colleagues internally.

You will report to the Secretariat and other colleagues on member data, trends and potential recruitment and retention opportunities and act as a source of escalation for difficult or specialist membership related queries. You will also take part in or lead projects and initiatives related to the recruitment and retention of members or where member data is involved.

You will have management experience as well as a good knowledge of membership database systems. An appreciation of the ethos of the trade union movement is also crucial.

We are offering a salary of £60,550 as well as a contribution towards a personal pension scheme. The annual leave entitlement for this post is 30 days, excluding public holidays.
