Embedded: Call out for musicians, composer, sound artists

Embedded: Call out for musicians, composer, sound artists

Wednesday, 13 October 2021, 5.00pm

Embedded Musicians.

Chamber Music Scotland will be appointing five Scotland-based creatives working within chamber music to join this programme.
Each will work in communities within a specific region of Scotland: North (Highlands & Islands), East (Perthshire, Fife, Aberdeenshire,
Angus), Central (Ayrshire, Strathclyde, Edinburgh, Lothians), West (Argyll and Bute), and South (Borders, Dumfries and Galloway).

The Embedded Musicians will connect and consult with promoters, local authorities, community groups, arts venues, etc. in their assigned region and work with CMS to create a programme of activity based on the needs and goals they’ve identified during the consultation period. In addition, each musician will explore one of our four current focus areas of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and their programme of work should reach people who are: from Black and/or Minority Ethnic backgrounds; living in areas of social and economic deprivation; living with disabilities/additional support needs; experiencing mental ill health.

The initial consultation period is expected to last for three months, and the programme of work will be delivered throughout 2022. Embedded Musicians will be supported and guided by CMS, and have the opportunity for peer-to-peer connection and sharing within the group of five musicians throughout the duration of their project.

Each Embedded Musician will receive £2,250 (15 days at £150/day) + travel for their work during the consultation period, and CMS has
budget for each region’s programme of activity.
