Britten Pears Arts is currently accepting applications for its 2024–25 Snape Residencies, aimed at creators looking to refocus their practice or explore new directions. This unique programme is open to a broad spectrum of artists, including musicians, composers, dancers, visual artists, filmmakers, writers, sound artists, researchers, and directors, with a particular interest in projects that incorporate a strong musical element. The residency is designed for creators at any career stage, interested in interdisciplinary, site-specific, or collaborative works.

Selected participants will benefit from a 5–6 day residency, including equipped workspace, accommodation, travel, lunch expenses, and additional support based on individual needs such as producer and technical support, mentoring, wellbeing assistance, and opportunities for collaboration and involvement in Britten Pears Arts’ wider activities. Although artist fees are not provided, financial support is available for eligible applicants facing financial barriers, including those needing to cover costs for BSL interpreters or childcare.

Applications must be submitted by 1pm UK time on Monday, 19 February. The residency dates span from September 2024 to May 2025, with several sessions available. Applicants are encouraged to engage with the ethos of Snape Maltings, being open and curious, and may have the opportunity to showcase their work informally or as part of Britten Pears Arts’ events.
