Malian artist Oumou Sangaré is scheduled to perform at the Kilkenny Arts Festival on 10 August 2023. The concert will take place at St Canice’s Cathedral at 8 pm, with an approximate duration of 60 minutes. Ticket prices are divided into two zones: Zone A at €35/€33 and Zone B at €30/€28. Ticket bundles are also available.

Oumou Sangaré has been a prominent figure in contemporary African music since her debut album, Moussoulou, released in 1989. She is recognised for her contributions to the music of her native Wassoulou region and has been influential in integrating Afro-pop, folk-rock, and fuzzy blues guitars into her work.

Her latest album, Timbuktu, carries forward her unique musical style. For her performance at the Kilkenny Arts Festival, she will be accompanied by a seven-piece band.
