Welsh National Opera is seeking Casual Music Department Operations Assistants to assist the Music Department Operations Manager in ensuring that all necessary technical, practical, and seating requirements are in place for all work of the WNO Music Department.

This work will take place both in Cardiff and on tour (in the UK and abroad) ensuring the highest standards of safety at all times. The successful candidate will be required to ensure that the pit, stage or rehearsal spaces are set and ready for use in advance of the scheduled session and is in accordance with the requirements of the repertoire and the pre-agreed wishes of the conductor / director / music staff assist with Music Department Operations Manager to ensure the safe transportation of all instruments and equipment for all outside venues and tours, driving as necessary and liaise with Orchestra Management, Chorus Management and Company Management regarding practical requirements (pianos, chairs, music stands, lighting, etc.) for all upcoming rehearsals and performances based on guidance from the Music Department Operations Manager

The ideal candidate must have a good level of fitness and confidence in manual handling of orchestral and technical equipment. Training will be given to complete all tasks, good attention to detail, be a team player with a proactive and excellent personal manner and show enthusiasm and excellent attitude at all times
