NoCrows: New LP from One of Ireland’s Most Unique Folk Groups

NoCrows, a dynamic folk orchestra from Sligo's diverse music scene, formed in 2005. With members from Ireland, Siberia, Switzerland and Mallorca, the band’s original material reflects the diverse individual members' folk traditions and musical backgrounds, spanning Irish traditional, rumba, classical, jazz, rock, and Balkan music, enthralling audiences at Glastonbury, Dranouter, Sitges Live, Sligo Live, and many European festivals. In 2019 NoCrows was awarded Band of the Year at renowned arts venue Zehntscheuer, Ravensburg, Germany. In 2022, the band made their debut in France, performing at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris.

After six CD releases, the latest being their 2021 release, “Escape”, a live collection of their best-known tunes, NoCrows launched their very first limited-edition vinyl album, eponymously titled NoCrows on their 2023 Spain/Switzerland/Germany tour. The LP’s cover art is an image by Martha Quinn from the window of the group’s “home venue”, Shoot the Crows in Sligo. The LP is a remastered-for-vinyl “Best Of” collection plus bonus tracks, new compositions written during the lockdown of 2020/21.

NoCrows is:

Anna Houston: Cello, Mandolin, Vocals

Eddie Lee: Bass, vocals

Felip Carbonell: Guitar, vocals

Oleg Ponomarev: Violin
