EUROCHOIR 2020

Organisers: Sing Ireland in co-operation with the European Choral Association

EuroChoir is a special choir project to promote the networking of talented young singers at the European level, and to foster the emergence of the next generation of talents. Organised every year in a different country, EuroChoir offers the opportunity to young singers to get together to rehearse a challenging program with renowned conductors, improve their vocal skills and present the results of their work in public concerts.

For the years 2019 to 2021, the EuroChoir cycle will be under the direction of one of the emerging young talents of the European scene, Yuval Weinberg, and Ireland’s renowned choral conductor and Artistic Director of The Irish Youth Choirs, Bernie Sherlock. The sessions took place in France last year, followed by Ireland this year and finally Switzerland in 2021.

2020 sees the city of Limerick host the EuroChoir session from 24th July – 3rd August based in the University of Limerick. These intensive eight days of rehearsing will culminate in three performances; 31st July - St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick, 1st August - St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, Galway, 3rd August - Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin.

Sing Ireland are taking applications until the 31st March 2020. European and Irish singers between the ages of 18 and 30yrs are eligible to apply. Full details including application procedure and fee schedule can be found here:
