Folk trio Alfi perform at St. Patrick’s Festival on Sunday, 17 March 2024 at the Festival Quarter’s Rí Rá Stage from 4:05 PM to 4:50 PM and later perform at Tigín from 6:05 PM to 6:40 PM.

Alfi is comprised of Fiachra Meek (uilleann pipes), Ryan McAuley (five-string banjo), and Alannah Thornburgh (harp), creating a unique sound that draws from the rich musical traditions of both Ireland and America. The trio’s approach to folk music is both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition, featuring an engaging mix of music and song.

Their debut album, “Say Old Man,” released in July 2023, has been met with critical acclaim. The album is praised for capturing the essence of Alfi’s live performances, showcasing the individual talents of its members and cementing their status as a significant presence in Ireland’s folk scene.

Alfi’s contributions to folk music have been recognised with several awards and nominations. They were nominated for ‘Best Emerging Folk Artist’ at the RTÉ Folk Awards and have received accolades such as the ‘US Embassy Creative Minds Award’, The ‘Caoimhin O Dochartaigh Award’ at the Imbolc International Music Festival, and the Molloy Award at the Birmingham TradFest.

The Festival Quarter is located at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks.
