Communications Director
New Music USA is currently in search of a Communications Director to join their senior team. The organization aims to expand its programs and services across the United States. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a creative and collaborative leader to strengthen cross-organizational planning, leverage existing assets such as content strategy for NewMusicBox, and enhance the organization’s reputation as a national resource for all forms of new music.
The Communications Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive and innovative communications strategy for New Music USA. Their primary objective will be to promote key messages and activities that align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
The position will introduce and oversee an integrated approach to communications planning and delivery, collaborating with various teams within the organization including development, grantmaking, and editorial staff. This collaboration aims to bolster both external and internal communications. Specific responsibilities include formulating marketing strategies for funding opportunities and events, ensuring brand consistency across different platforms, enhancing the organization’s website, and managing social media communications. Emphasizing digital strategy is vital, which includes the expansion of the online magazine and fostering collaboration with the community to regularly disseminate information that supports, educates, and celebrates the creators and organizations New Music USA assists.
The Communications Director will work closely with the Development Director on the annual campaign, publications, events, and serve as a liaison to the board, contributing to the overall success of New Music USA.
