The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) is set to deliver an exhilarating Summer lunchtime concert featuring a captivating lineup of compositions by Vivaldi, Puccini, and Verdi. Taking place on Tuesday, 13th June, 2023, at 1:05pm on the Main Stage, this performance promises an unforgettable musical experience.

Under the baton of conductor Adam Hickox, the NSO will showcase a diverse program, including Respighi’s Trittico Bottecelliano, a shimmering homage to Botticelli’s iconic artworks. The orchestra will then be joined by Sinéad Farrell, the NSO’s Principal Piccolo, for a dazzling rendition of Vivaldi’s Piccolo Concerto in C major, a display of Baroque brilliance and exuberance.

Puccini’s “La Tregenda,” an animated intermezzo from his first opera, Le Villi, will captivate the audience with its vibrant orchestral colors, depicting vengeful fairies casting a spell on a former lover, compelling him to dance until his demise. The concert will culminate with Verdi’s powerful and poetic Overture to Les vêpres Siciliennes (The Sicilian Vespers), showcasing the orchestra’s exceptional talent in capturing the romantic and dramatic essence of the composition.
