Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Dan Trueman @ Kilkenny Arts Festival 2023

Sunday, 20 August 2023, 8.00pm

The Kilkenny Arts Festival has announced a performance by Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Dan Trueman as part of the Marble City Sessions on 20 August 2023. The duo will take the stage at Set Theatre at 8pm.

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, known for both his solo performances and collaborations, such as with The Gloaming, has been recognised for his innovative approach to traditional fiddle playing. In 2014, alongside composer and fiddle player Dan Trueman, they launched their debut album “Laghdú” at the Kilkenny Arts Festival. This year, they are set to showcase material from their new album “The Fate of Bones.”

Both Ó Raghallaigh and Trueman utilise the Hardanger d’Amoré fiddles, a fusion of the Norwegian hardanger fiddle and the baroque viola d’amore. Their collaboration has been marked by an exploration of the fiddle tradition, merging older elements with newer interpretations.
