Curiosity, fearlessness and versatility carry Australian flautist Lina Andonovska around the globe; a name that you’ll discover on both the pages of Rolling Stone and the Australian Chamber Orchestra roster, Lina has not only cultivated creative partnerships with leading composers including Louis Andriessen, Donnacha Dennehy and Bryce Dessner (The National), but also deep community ties from Timor-Leste to Tokyo’s incubator Wonder Site

Andonovska has just completed a year-long programme in collaboration with Ensemble Modern (Germany), as a member of the International Ensemble Modern Academy. To wrap up her time in Frankfurt am Main, she will be presenting a concert of the latest collaborations and work written for her including Donnacha Dennehy’s ‘Bridget’ and Judith Ring’s ‘A Breathe of Fresh Air’, both works featured on her debut solo album released in early 2020 which was described as “brimming with energy and bold textures, though marked throughout by nuance. A name to watch out for.” (All About Jazz)

The concert will feature a World Premiere by one of Ireland’s most renowned improvisers Colm O’Hara, that was originally created for SlapBang duo with the support of a Music Commission Award by the Arts Council of Ireland. For this occasion, the genre-defying work will be adapted as a solo for amplified bass flute. Amanda Feery’s 'The Scolds' will receive its stage premiere, as well as a new collaboration with Cologne-based composer/sound designer Lucia Kilger.
