The Elevate Bursary

The Elevate Bursary

Friday, 28 May 2021, 5.00pm

Elevate is Galway International Arts Festival’s new commissioning/bursary strand to support Irish artists working across all artforms as they create and present original, contemporary and captivating ideas to engage both live and digital audiences.

Each commissioned artist will receive a maximum bursary of €5,000 in support of their projects. Short new works will be broadcast across GIAF’s digital platforms and/or be presented to a live audience during this year’s Festival (28 August-18 September).

The €30,000 Elevate scheme will include up to four artist bursaries with additional production support.

We welcome submissions across all genres including performance, music, visual arts, podcasts and video. Elevate aims to feature new projects from artists with backgrounds that reflect and represent the diversity of contemporary Ireland.

Elevate aims to foster new and innovative projects that may not otherwise be realised. The bursaries are awarded to artists to assist them in further developing their work, exploring their craft and creative practices and transforming their ideas into realised works of art. Projects which are in development and in need of completion funds are also eligible.
