A position has become available at Liverpool Philharmonic for an In Harmony Liverpool Musician. This is a part-time, permanent post (hours and timetable to be discussed at interview).

The successful candidate will be a specialist in lower strings, and will be an integral part of the regular In Harmony musician team, using music through instrumental tuition and the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing, respect, aspiration, drive, understanding, empathy and emotional intelligence. This will include instrumental tuition, musicianship, ensemble leadership, performances, singing and early years work with children and young people of any age, and inspiring children every day by being a positive role model.

The musician should be an inspirational musician, educator and performer, with the ability to plan and develop delivery in a specialist area. They will have extensive experience of working with children and young people in a music education context, including practical experience and success in delivering instrumental lessons to groups of children and young people aged 0 – 18.

Interviews will be held during week commencing 24th February 2020, and will include delivering a 20 minute test lesson to a small group of children and a whole class musicianship session, as well as a more formal interview. More details will be confirmed if invited to interview.
