M G Boulter & Germa Adan
Conway Hall is proud to present Southend-on-Sea’s finest singer-songerwriter M G Boulter, alongside rising folk star Germa Adan for March’s Folk Unplugged.
M G Boulter is a songwriter and musician living on the Thames coast in Essex, UK. Serving his apprenticeship in numerous bands in the hotbed of the Southed-on-Sea pub rock scene (the precursors of which were household names such as Procol Harem, Dr Feelgood and Eddie and the Hotrods), M G came to lead, as singer and guitarist, the popular country rock band The Lucky Strikes, who Q Magazine once likened to “The Waterboys on trucker pills”.
Often touted as an ‘artist’s artist’, M G’s songwriting creates vignettes of ordinary life and seaside communities. Garnering praise from reviewers like Uncut describing his work as “gorgeous in a word” and R2 listing him as “a weapons grade songwriter”, expect a more intimate show combining new album material and storytelling, highlighting M G’s songs as an important contemporary voice in the long tradition of the singer-songwriter.
