RTÉ Short Story Competition

The 2024 RTÉ Short Story Competition, established in honour of the esteemed writer and broadcaster Francis MacManus, is currently open for submissions.

The competition is open to writers over the age of 18 residing in Ireland or Irish writers globally. The first-place winner will receive €5,000, with second and third places awarded €4,000 and €3,000, respectively. Additionally, seven runners-up will each receive €250.

Entries must be submitted by Friday, 10 May 2024, through the official website at www.rte.ie/writing. This year’s submissions will be assessed by a panel of judges, including Neil Hegarty, Kathleen MacMahon, and Claire Kilroy.
