Hannah Peel & Beibei Wang – Spirit of Edens
On 16 June, Kings Place presents a unique collaboration between award-winning composer Hannah Peel and virtuosic percussionist Beibei Wang in their "Spirit of Edens" concert, part of the Sound Unwrapped series. The event explores the interplay of human and electronic rhythm, with the duo combining their distinctive collection of synths, Chinese drums, gongs, and water percussion to create an immersive soundscape.
Hannah Peel and Beibei Wang first collaborated on a recording of Hannah's piece for the Manchester Collective Neon, evoking the Shinjuku suburb of Tokyo through sound. This one-off evening of synthesis versus percussion will allow the audience to experience the power of imagination in building landscapes, skylines, and cities infused with rhythmic soundscapes.
The event takes place at Hall One in Kings Place, with doors opening at 7:30 pm and the concert starting at 8 pm. Ticket prices range from £9.75 to £25.00, with a 10% booking fee. Concessions and 'Under 30s' tickets are also available.
