Prom 42: Elgar, Chopin and Strauss
On Wednesday, 16th August 2023, at 19:30, the Royal Albert Hall will host the Philharmonia Orchestra for Prom 42. Under the baton of their Principal Conductor, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, the evening promises a diverse programme encompassing works from Edward Elgar, Frédéric Chopin, and Richard Strauss.
The concert is set to commence with Elgar’s “In the South (Alassio)”, followed by Chopin’s “Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor”, featuring Seong-Jin Cho as the piano soloist. Following an interval, the evening will conclude with Strauss’s tone-poem, “Aus Italien”.
