The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is seeking a Chair to provide strategic leadership. The RSNO is a significant cultural institution in Scotland, renowned for its diverse range of work.

The role involves guiding the RSNO in fulfilling its vision of engaging hundreds of thousands annually through music, both in person and online, to bring joy, connect communities, and foster skills and pride in Scotland. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, well-connected individual with senior leadership experience within Scotland and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. This position requires strategic guidance to Trustees and the CEO, ensuring the RSNO’s mission, vision, and values are effectively communicated and embodied.

Key responsibilities include acting as an ambassador for the RSNO, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders such as the Scottish Government, and promoting awareness and support through regular attendance at concerts and tours. The Chair will also focus on the growth and maintenance of relationships with funders, supporters, and partners.

Candidates should have governance experience at a strategic level, ideally in a Trustee, NXD, or Chair role, a strong commitment to the principles of the RSNO, and a passion for classical music or the arts.
