Belfast City Council is offering Festivals and Events grants spanning two and four years, available to cultural organisations involved in sectors such as sports, arts, heritage, and more. Festivals and events are perceived as activities aligned under a common theme, held either on a single day or over successive days.

Two grant strands are available:

Four Year Festivals and Events: Minimum of £50,000 offered yearly, capped at £250,000. Estimated average grant: £120,000.

Two Year Festivals and Events: Minimum of £10,000 offered yearly, capped at £50,000. Estimated average grant: £35,000.

Grants can cover organisational running costs and programme activities, but there are specific exclusions such as balloon releases, discriminatory groups or activities, commercial programmes, capital expenditure, pre-April 2024 costs, and application-related expenses.

Eligibility criteria include having a Belfast operational focus, legal constitution, non-profit status, a management committee, an organisational bank account, sound financial health, and relevant policies compliant with legal standards.
