Irish National Opera is inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to join its roster of freelance personnel responsible for the set-up and movement of the INO Orchestra’s equipment between storage, rehearsals and performances.

Responsibilities will include:
- Setting-up rehearsal and performance spaces.
- Transporting the INO Orchestra’s equipment between storage facilities, rehearsal and performance venues in Dublin and on national tours.
- Safely moving and lifting valuable and fragile instruments and equipment, loading and unloading the orchestra vehicles and loading in and out of venues.
- Organising suitable transport as required.

Experience & skills:
- A full driving license is essential
- A working knowledge of orchestral stage management would be desirable but is not essential as training can be provided.
- An up to date working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety policy and practice.

Terms & hours:
- Orchestra Assistants will be engaged on freelance contracts on a production-by-production basis.
- Hours of engagement will vary but could typically involve approximately 3-6 days’ work across 3-6 productions per season (approximately 9-36 days’ work per annum in total). Advance schedules will be made available.
- Access to rented vehicles for transporting equipment will be facilitated, expressions of interest are also welcomed from individuals with their own transport vehicle.

Due to the nature of INO’s performances, Orchestra Assistants with be required to work evenings, early mornings and weekends.
