Research Assistant for DIY/Underground Music Project
Research Assistant , School of Music, 5 months (0.3FTE) (Temporary, Part-Time)
Applications are invited for the above post of part-time research assistant in the UCD School of Music. The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr Jaime Jones (Principal Investigator) on the research project ‘Amplifying Resilience: Digital Sustainability in DIY Music Communities’ (NU/UCD Seed Funding 2024). The work will take place for 5 months, beginning March 1st and ending on July 31st.
The successful candidate will have a background in Ethnomusicology or Popular Music Studies, and will have experience with ethnographic fieldwork and with project management. As a research assistant you will work with the PI and other team members at Northeastern University, Boston. You will be a valued and critical member of the team. You will be a key contact point and connection between academics, interlocutors, and documentary filmmakers. The team will prioritise those already based on the island of Ireland.
Research Assistant Salary Scale: Fixed Salary: €30,025 pro rata (0.3 FTE) - working hours are 12 per week.
