Learning Waves, in collaboration with the Independent Commercial Radio Sector, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), and Skillnet Ireland, has unveiled the upcoming Learning Waves 2023 Journalism Graduate Programme.

The Learning Waves 2023 Journalism Graduate Programme will offer 10 journalism graduates a unique opportunity to be placed in one of Ireland’s Independent Commercial Radio stations for a period of 5 months.

The Learning Waves 2023 Journalism Graduate Programme will offer 10 journalism graduates a unique opportunity to be placed in one of Ireland’s Independent Commercial Radio stations for a period of 5 months. The programme aims to empower graduates to tell truthful stories that resonate with the audience and hold societal significance. It also focuses on developing a fundamental understanding and awareness of media literacy among graduates, equipping them with skills and knowledge to comprehend traditional and new media platforms, including radio, online, and mobile. Graduates will gain an understanding of the importance of providing balanced information from trusted sources, incorporating evidence-based opinions and commentary. Additionally, the programme aims to ensure the future viability of radio journalism, encompassing news and sports, by attracting graduates to the industry and exposing them to diverse storytelling opportunities across multiple platforms.

20 May is the deadline for applications.
