New Music Inc has recently launched an opportunity for small-budget, artist-led music groups and organizations in Baltimore, Chicago, and New York City. The incubator program aims to assist these groups in generating fresh ideas, devising strategies, and forging collaborations during critical stages in their development.

The program is open to organizations, collectives, or groups operating in any music style. Each participating organization will receive financial support, coupled with 12 to 18 months of immersive skill-building within a cohort environment. The program fosters collective learning and collaboration, enabling participants to achieve their goals effectively. A locally based Program Coordinator will facilitate the program in each city, working closely with participants to guide them on their journey.

Emphasizing inclusivity, each cohort will consist of 50% BIPOC-led organizations, ensuring representation and reflecting the diversity of creators and artists contributing to the music communities in each location.

The program will address themes and challenges identified by the participating organizations, in collaboration with Program Coordinators and staff from New Music USA. These topics may encompass audience development, fundraising, marketing, equity and diversity, board development, and strategic planning. The overarching goal is to create a supportive space where artist-led organizations can learn together, sharing their unique challenges and opportunities.

Interested groups are encouraged to submit their applications by June 12, 2023, at 11:59 pm Eastern. This is an exceptional chance to join New Music Inc’s incubator program and receive valuable support, resources, and guidance tailored to the needs of artist-led music groups.
