Traditional Arts Adviser

The Arts Council wishes to appoint a Traditional Arts Adviser who will meet the needs of the organisation both from a quality and service delivery perspective. The advice sought is primarily to cover areas of work described below.

– Appraisal and assessment of funding applications to assist the Council in the process of evaluating applications received from individuals and organisations for awards, schemes, grants and other funding opportunities offered by the Council, either independently or in conjunction with another body.
– To maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of Traditional Arts in Ireland and overseas, including the identification of new trends, and to ensure that the Council is provided with intelligence on same in a timely and appropriate manner;
– To provide written evaluation reports on the artistic quality of the work of both: (i) individual artists and organisations funded by the Arts Council and (ii) new and potential applicants.
