Royal Albert Home: Emilie Nicolas
Norwegian electro artist Emilie Nicolas will deliver an exclusive set from her home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions.
In these strange times, closing the Hall’s doors is the best way to look after the world, but we are now opening a (virtual) window for you to experience some of the most talented artists around.
Renowned for her unusual vocal style – inspired by jazz vocalists like Billie Holiday – and inimitable electro-pop sound, Emilie shot to domestic fame in 2013 with her debut single, Pstereo, and topped the Norwegian album charts the following year with her first album, Like I’m a Warrior, before winning Best New Artist and Best Pop Act at the ‘Norwegian GRAMMYs’ (Spelleman awards).
Following a serious illness, she returned in 2018 with Tranquile Emilie, which won her two more Spelleman awards – Best Album and Best Pop Act – and toured the record extensively, culminating in two sold-out nights at the 1,400-capacity Oslo Opera House. Her third album, the confessional, intoxicating Let Her Breathe, was released in June 2020 to widespread acclaim.
She joins us for an intimate set as part of this season of at-home gigs.
