Safe to Create, a dignity at work programme funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, is offering training bursaries for freelance artists and arts workers in Ireland. The programme aims to enhance workplace safety in the arts and creative sectors by providing resources to address harmful behaviour, including training, information, research, counselling, and legal advice.

Freelance artists and arts workers are eligible for a €150 bursary to compensate for the time spent completing three core online self-led training courses, which are accessible at any time via the Safe to Create website. These courses cover Tackling Bullying and Harassment, Addressing Unconscious Bias, and Being an Active Bystander, each requiring approximately 50 minutes to complete.

Applicants must be over 18, residents of Ireland, not in receipt of a full-time salary, and able to evidence their professional practice. Applications are open until 5 pm on December 31st, 2023, with a straightforward application process involving a short form and proof of eligibility.

Bursaries are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis upon acceptance of proof of eligibility. Successful applicants will receive their bursary after completing the courses and submitting confirmation of completion. For further inquiries, contact info [at] safetocreate.ie.
