Open call: hcmf// shorts 2024
Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (hcmf//) is currently inviting applications for its hcmf// shorts 2024 programme, aimed at emerging UK-based artists and ensembles.
Selected participants will be featured in a full day of free concerts, presenting new works or innovative interpretations of contemporary repertoire. In addition to performance opportunities, hcmf// shorts includes a mentoring programme to support artists’ professional development, integrating them into the Fielding Talent family for further networking and growth.
Applicants are required to submit a project proposal of up to 20 minutes, including any setup or changeover, by 10am on 15 April 2024. Proposals can be submitted in written form or as a short video, alongside supporting audio material via web links. The application must detail the project’s concept, instrumentation, repertoire, and technical requirements. A selection panel of at least three members, including an external reviewer, will evaluate submissions without pre-selections. While individual feedback will not be provided to unsuccessful candidates, all applicants will be notified of the outcomes by 3 May 2024.
