Campfire Club: Owen Spafford & Louis Campbell, Bird in the Belly
The Nest Collective cordially invites music enthusiasts to a captivating outdoor concert, presented by Campfire Club. This unique event offers attendees the opportunity to relish the simplicity of live music in the warm glow of a campfire. In beautiful green spaces across cities, extraordinary musicians from around the world come together to share their talents.
Campfire Club creates an ambiance reminiscent of the age-old tradition where people gather around a fire to enjoy music, food, drinks, and the company of others. It is an occasion to reconnect with the essence of life’s simplest joys.
The upcoming Campfire Club event promises a co-headlining performance by Owen Spafford & Louis Campbell, alongside Bird in the Belly. Owen Spafford, known for his work with Cosmo Sheldrake and Don’t Feed the Peacocks, and Louis Campbell, a member of Sam Sweeney’s band, first crossed paths as teenagers in the National Youth Folk Ensemble’s inaugural cohort. Since forming their duo in 2018, they have gained recognition, including a nomination for the BBC Young Folk Award. Their music has received airplay on BBC Radio 2, 3, and RTE1. The duo’s shared musical vision and enduring friendship allow them to seamlessly blend their instruments, creating subtle and emotive textures that redefine the fiddle and guitar duo idiom.
Bird in the Belly, a folk collective based in Brighton, comprises the folk-duo Hickory Signals (Laura Ward and Adam Ronchetti), alt-folk singer-songwriter Jinnwoo (Ben Webb), and multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom Pryor. Together, they have curated a collection of lesser-known and forgotten lyrics, poems, and stories from various corners of the UK. They have ingeniously set these words to their own “hypnotically original compositions” (fRoots), creating a unique musical experience.
