Join the Irish Writers Centre’ Board of Directors

Wednesday, 10 April 2024, 12.00pm

The Irish Writers Centre (IWC) is currently inviting applications for a voluntary position on its Board of Directors.

Applicants should be writers actively engaged in the literary community within Ireland and can come from any literary genre or form. The Centre particularly encourages applications from individuals from backgrounds and communities that are traditionally underrepresented in the literature sector. Please note, Board members cannot be employed by the IWC during their tenure.

Responsibilities of the Board include strategic planning, financial oversight, maintaining governance standards, and appointing senior executives. The commitment involves participating in 6–7 meetings annually, including the AGM, and attending IWC events where possible.

Candidates are invited to apply by submitting a brief statement or cover letter highlighting how their background and experience align with the needs of the IWC, along with a CV or biography detailing their literary and any relevant board or trustee experience. Applications, compiled into a single WORD or PDF document, should be emailed to management [at] irishwriterscentre.ie by 12 noon, Friday 10 April 2024.

This position is for a maximum of two three-year terms and is unpaid. Prior board or trustee experience is welcome but not essential.
