Head of Spatial Planning

Head of Spatial Planning

Thursday, 4 May 2023, 12.00pm

The Arts Council of Ireland is currently seeking a Head of Spatial Planning for a full-time, permanent position at Higher Executive Officer Grade. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role and work with colleagues to oversee the delivery of the corporate policy, People, Place and Space, which was launched in 2022.

The Strategic Development Department of the Arts Council leads the development, implementation and evaluation of the corporate strategy, Making Great Art Work, and specific corporate policies. The Head of Spatial Planning will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the spatial policy and its accompanying five-year implementation plan. This includes four areas: advice and advocacy, planning and the arts, arts investment and development, and learning and insight.

As a corporate policy, the responsibility for delivering actions is shared across the organization. Some actions have already been integrated into the work program, while others have been initiated, such as strategizing for the provision of artist workspaces, rolling out a social impact measurement model, and conducting a national audit of arts and cultural spaces in collaboration with the government Night-Time Economy Taskforce.

The Arts Council is looking for a candidate with excellent leadership skills and innovative ideas to work effectively with colleagues and deliver this ambitious policy.

Interested candidates should submit their applications by 12.00 noon on Thursday 4 May 2023.
